I asked her a few questions here goes:

becoming one?
I am a professional in my cartoon world at the moment but
i intend to become one and i'm currently working on becoming a professional make up artist

4)Anything you want to say to blogsville?

Naija Bloggers award 2010

4:52 PM
Okay people, it's that time again. We had the Naija bloggers awards last year and it was a success given what we had to work with. I think it should be a yearly thing. However, i cannot actively be a part of organizing it or any of that. I'm just sounding out the horn. I know there are tons of creative bloggers with a lot more expertise at putting such things together than i can ever hope to be.

You guys can use this forum to get together and decide who is interested in being a part of organizing it. You can take a look at what we did last year HERE, it was very rudimentary, so i'm hoping this year would be bigger and better. We were just getting our feet wet last yr.

Please, please let's not be passive about this. It's a lot of fun too. I just know i will not be able to devote time to it like i did last yr. I can offer any little advice i have.

What say u guys?

December babies....and those who left

1:51 PM
I've been away for like forever, and I'm so sorry for my absence. Really really sorry. I was overwhelmed with exams, school and a whole lot of other things. I've been meaning to this post but I just kept procrastinating.

Anyway, a very merry Christmas in arrears to everybody and a happy new year in advance.

Well, in and around, we have some new entrants to blogsville. We'll call them our December babies.

1. FREE ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS :

This blog claims to have "an answer to your every problem, need or anxiety, easing your thoughts and giving you options to your problems and for  free". Interesting. Well, If you're looking for 40 ways to discover if you're a love addict or not, then you have just found it. Its more of  an "advice" blog. Well, If you've got any question, feel free to ask, because you're guaranteed free answers.

2. WELCOME TO FREE TALK

This blog reminds me of Linda Ikeji's blog, not as popular, but definitely following the same concept. It combines both Information and entertainment (infotainment) . In his words :

"This is a 'no holds barred' place for interaction between the young, the old and the em, ‘in between’ . hey i’m proud GREENwhiteGREEN so u can guess what most of my posts would be about"

Its a nice read.

3. My Diary :

Shorty simply defines herself as an introvert. Like most of us, the inspiration for this blog came from reading other people's posts. She's got me asking questions like : What is love, why do we fall in love and why can't we just live without love?

That's it for this year! It feels so good to say that.

Well, we also had people leaving us,. quite sad. These are the few I remember left.

1.Chari and ButterCup
2. Rayo

3. Blogoratti (Not certain yet, He's been hinting it anyway)

Any one else?

Happy Holidays Everyone!!!

Blog(s)ville Gist Interview Fridays

3:47 PM
Hello Lovely people of blogsville, I know i've been gone for a hot minute, blame it on Uni among other things. I'm on Christmas break now so expect an overload of posts in the next month. This Friday we have the lovely Burramint.. Enjoy:

1) Why the name Burramint?

Hmm, well my friend used to call me that and she was the one who got me to start reading blogs so when I eventually started blogging, I decided to honor her by using that name…and oh if u haven’t figured it out yet burramint=buttermint(the Nigerian candy) in a pseudo-American accent.

2) When and why did you start blogging?

May 2008, I thought it was an interesting thing to do, kinda like a journal I would never lose. I didn’t even know there was a blogging community or anything like that. The only blog I read then was bellanija. Lol

3) I can see you have two blogs, is the second blog an online novel or something???

I’m glad you asked that; that is my baby! Barbed wire fences is something like an online novel…but not really, pretty much the description is an online account of the lives of different Lagosians and how they interact. I run it with my friend. I know the posts are not frequent but we really are trying to deliver good quality and in that we have to improve as writers as well which takes time amongst school and other things. Not to worry we are still at it Just visit us

4) Who are your favourite bloggers and why are they your favourite bloggers?

MyneWhitman- excellent writer and an inspiration to me in many ways, chinchin- she is just too talented for her own good! Iphyigbogurl- I really enjoy reading her stuff its so friendly and personal, plus she has to teach me how to make igbo dishes since I’m marrying into her culture, Sugabelly- despite the controversy I really still see her as a very intelligent lady and I just soak up all that historical info . The culture cynic cos she gives me so many ideas and tons of inspiration for DIY’s and you juiceegal(NOT! :P)

5)Any blogsville crushes?
sugarking *batting eyelashes*

6)What do you have to say about blogsville in general?

It can be overwhelming but i've learnt so much and made loadsa friends and it can be very informative if used in the right way.

7)Have you met any blogger personally?

Yes actually, not sure I can say who though… for the sake of their anonymity

8)How long do you see yourself blogging for??

For as long as I have something to say

9)Is your blog anonymous??

Hmmm I’m actually not sure about that…lol so really I don’t know

10)Any other thing you would love to add??

I look forward to reading some more interesting blogs and learning about the beautiful people of blogsville so come visit me!

Well there you have it, I hope you enjoyed reading this as much as i enjoyed interviewing her, check back next week for another interesting interview session . Take care and enjoy the weekend...kisses

People of Blogsville

7:18 AM
Calling all the creative of blogsville. As you all know, Blog(s)Ville GisT is for us, by us (our very own FUBU). What would you guys like to see on here? How can we make this a better experience for you guys. I really want everyone to feel included. I know the newbie list hasn't been very regular, but Ms. Dufa is busy with school and i'm sure she'll get on it as soon as she gets a chance.

I have some ideas of my own, that i know i have no time to do that right now. One of the things i really wanted to do was a feature called "Around blogsville" I have done a couple in the past but i really can't keep up with blogs right now, so i can't do it. If u r active on blogsville and you keep up with blogs, would u be so kind as do a summary of interesting things you've read or whatever and send it to blogsville@gmail.com. All credit will be given to you of course.

Also, if you would like to be a part of this, the offer is still open. Bottom line, if you have suggestions on what u want to see, leave a comment. If you could do an "Around Blogsville" feature, let me know. All ideas, thots and suggestions are welcome.

Hope u guys enjoyed ur Thanksgiving or Sallah break. Mine was a welcome break from studying round the clock, I got to relax and study :) Take care everyone and remember we really can't do this without you guys.

Faithful Followers Vol 1

9:00 AM
So far we have 91 followers on this blog, you guys are awesome. So i decided to give a shout out to 10 of our (very randomly picked) followers. Did i already say you guys are awesome? I'll say it again, you guys are awesome!!!!!

I had fun looking through these blogs and some others that did not make it on this list. I like that we have about 3 blogs by teenagers on this list. Anyhoo, i hope the rest of you guys go show them some love and discover new blogs in the process. I will be doing this from time to time, just to let you guys know i appreciate you for being a part of this and bearing with my sporadic posting. You can blame it all on med school. I'm sure next semester would be better cos i would be better equipped to deal with the craziness.

Words of "Wisdom" for the day.
Know yourself. Love yourself. Improve yourself.

Oh, don't forget to follow this blog if u r a regular reader, not that we post regularly these days, but you get my drift.

Toodles and a whole lot of rice and beans (Don't ask me where that came from cos i don't know)

NEWBIES UPDATE 24/10/09

4:09 AM
Dear wonderful residents,

I'm sorry I was gone for a min, school work and all is taking its toll. I've got few newbies,  I need more newbie bloggers, so if you know any just hit us up.

And now, to the business of the day! As usual, you know what to do.

*Applause*

The newbies are:

1. UHM:

Another webisode coming your way from the stables of Mechanical Pencil. She's just 2 episiodes into the series, so its really easy to understand. Set out in modern Lagos,I like the characters because they are simple and easy to relate with. I figure she's going somewhere with it.

2. BLAZE  SENPAI QUAGRMIRES OF A TEENAGER :

Any idea what this means? Anyway, Eleyeth Blaze is  a young cute teenager detailing his experiences. If you're a girl, he'd teach you not to tag along and expect people to pay for your stuff. hilarious.

He writes good stories too. Though, now that the ASUU strike (university strike) is over he's not a very happy fellow.

In his words "you shall read my blog and you shall like it, you just don't know it yet"..lol...he's right.

3. Little Girl Lost
Gaga is a die hard Lady Gaga Fan and a a left-handed teenager . If you're left handed, you'd sure be able to relate with her chronicles of pain.....lol....I just love blogs with a face behind them, it makes it very personal. Where was I again? Okay, her ramblings are interesting and funny.

Thanks for checking them out.

Hola

8:59 PM
Hola bloggers,

I haven't ditched this blog. Med school has taken me hostage and has refused to release me. It's not getting any better o. Hopefully thanksgiving break will give me time to focus on this blog. So tell me, what has been going on in blogsville? Is everyone quiet? Where are our newbies? Ms. Dufa, Juicegal? What's up?

I guess to keep the ball rolling, i'll ask this question that someone asked me and i was going to ask my facebook friends. You guys can help me figure this out also. Which do u think bears the most stigma and why: Mental illness or being HIV positive?

Gist Time

4:28 AM
Hello lovely people of Blogsville.....see how y'all rushed here when you saw 'Gist'.lol.Well me i don't have gist o. Lately i've been seeing some very funky blog names and it got me wondering, really i would like to know how you guys came up with your names, i bet so many other people also want to know. So can you tell us at Blogsville Gist how you came up with your names. Lets all have fun. I'l go first.
'JUICEEGAL' How did i come up with this name sef? lol. I had this bag during my A'level days that had 'JUICEE' written on it, somehow the name stuck and then the boys read a whole new meaning to it, considering the fact that i'm juicy and all *wink wink* so they started calling me 'Juicy girl' lol. Anyway when i started my blog that was the first name that came to my mind. So thats my story, what's yours???
